Belgian ports strike info

UPDATE 12 May

Further to yesterday’s notice on the Belgian port strike, please be advised that MS Finneco 2 has been diverted to Zeebrugge instead of Antwerp due to more favourable port prospects.

The vessel is expected alongside in Zeebrugge at 11:00 hrs today, 12 May. Discharge operations will begin on Wednesday, 13 May, due to stevedore engagement rules.

In Zeebrugge, MS Finneco 2 will discharge all Belgian import cargo, including volumes originally planned for Antwerp. Consequently, the Antwerp call has been cancelled, and cargo can be collected in Zeebrugge.

We regret the inconvenience caused by the prevailing strike circumstances.

Subject to strike conditions, the vessel’s tentative schedule is as follows:

Zeebrugge PSA: ETA 12/05/26 at 11:00 – ETS 14/05/26 at 02:00
Sheerness: ETA 14/05/26 at 14:00 – ETS 14/05/26 at 23:00
Zeebrugge PSA: ETA 15/05/26 at 06:00 – ETS 15/05/26 at 14:00
Bilbao: ETA 17/05/26 at 14:00

We will advise of any further changes.

_________________________________

This is to inform you of possible schedule delays to our services calling at Belgian ports, due to national trade union actions announced for Tuesday 12th of May.

Additionally, on Wednesday 13th, the sea pilots’ union (ACOD) is planning a union meeting, after which members are expected to take a twelve-hour rest period, which is likely to further deteriorate traffic conditions.

The exact effects of the strike on our services are not yet clear, as they will depend on the overall level of participation.

At present, the following vessels are sailing towards Belgium and may be affected:

  • MV Finneco 2 — sailing towards Antwerp from the Baltic
  • MV Finneco 1 — sailing towards Zeebrugge from Bilbao

We are monitoring the situation closely and will keep you informed of any developments. We are not planning to cancel any departures, but will manage delays in order to minimise the impact on our services.
