Helsinki–Travemünde Route Ships Refurbished Based on Customer Feedback
The sister ships Finnstar, Finnlady, and Finnmaid welcome summer travelers to their newly renovated spaces. The café, lounge, and terrace areas have been modernized with a maritime theme. The goal of the refurbishment was to make the sea journey an even more relaxing experience, and it was carried out based on our customers’ feedback and wishes.
In May 2026, the renovations continued at Bar Navigare and the Bistro Lounge. The aim has been to make the long sea voyage a more relaxing and enjoyable experience – whether the plans were for socializing, dining, or withdrawing for some peace and quiet.
Original Color Palette with a Modern Twist
The ship’s original color palette has been complemented with contemporary shades. Natural wood, new surfaces, and fresh blue tones create a serene atmosphere. The result is a space that invites you to relax.
In the 2026 renovations, the color palette was complemented with warm neutrals, turquoise and petrol. The result is a harmonious whole that combines the ships’ classic style with a modern lounge atmosphere.
Comfort at the Forefront
The ships’ living room, Vista Lounge, is now more comfortable than ever. Seating areas have been updated, including new seats by the windows. It’s a perfect spot to admire the sea views!
The Bistro Lounge’s seating areas and layout have also been redesigned. New furniture and taller, illuminated partitions make the space calmer and more lounge-like than before.
Star Café Refreshed Inside and Out
The natural tones of the café and lounge area create a peaceful ambiance. New seats, upholstered sofas, and soft dark blue carpets complete the harmonious look. At the same time, the café’s offerings have been updated to be even more delicious and diverse.
Warmth from Lighting
Refurbished in May 2026, Bar Navigare and Bistro Lounge complement the ships’ passenger areas.
The bar’s iconic eye-catcher received new lighting, and the Bistro’s undulating light wall reinforces the space’s maritime atmosphere. Sound was also improved by adding speakers to the lounge area.
Atmospheric, soft lighting brings warmth to the entire space. Sit down for a coffee and enjoy a leisurely break!
New Look for the Outdoor Terrace
The terrace coverings have been renewed, and a stylish teak deck has been installed in the covered area. Terrace furniture has been updated, offering a variety of seating options. Would you prefer a sheltered corner protected from the wind or enjoy the sea breeze in the open area?
Outdoor play area and updated saunas on Finnmaid
During docking, Finnmaid renovated the bathrooms of 20 cabins as well as the saunas in the public areas. A new outdoor play area on the deck was also opened for the youngest family members.
The phased renovations make the sea voyage on the Helsinki–Travemünde route a more comfortable part of the holiday – not just a transfer from one place to another.
