Vuosaaren tietunnelin saneeraus – Renovation of Vuosaari road tunnel

Vuosaaren tietunnelin saneeraukseen liittyvät valmistelutyöt alkavat tunnelin ulkopuolella sataman päässä viikolla 34.

Työt käynnistyvät tunnelin ulkopuolella sataman päässä 18. elokuuta alkavalla viikolla puuston poistolla sekä kaivuutöillä, joista ei juuri aiheudu haittaa liikenteelle. Elokuun viimeisellä viikolla, viikko 35, työalue laajenee tunnelin suulta kohti satamaa (katso kartta):

• Vuosaaren satamatieltä suljetaan toinen ajokaista Seilorinkadun kiertoliittymästä tunnelin suuntaan. Liikenne sataman suunnasta tunneliin pääsee kulkemaan yhtä kaistaa pitkin.
• Satamakaaren ramppi suljetaan kokonaan, ja tunnelin läpi Kehä III:lle pääsee Vuosaaren suunnasta reittiä Rahtarinkatu–Seilorinkatu–Vuosaaren satamatie. Satamasta Vuosaaren suuntaan pääsee samaa reittiä toisinpäin (Vuosaaren satamatie–Seilorinkatu–Rahtarinkatu–Satamakaari).

Liikennejärjestelyt ovat voimassa tunnelin saneerauksen alkamiseen saakka. Töillä ei ole vaikutusta Kehä III:lta satamaan suuntautuvaan liikenteeseen. Myös tunneli on syksyn ajan käytössä normaalisti.

Tunneli suljetaan liikenteeltä tammikuussa 2026

Korjaustyöt Vuosaaren tunnelissa alkavat 6. tammikuuta 2026, jolloin tunneli suljetaan liikenteeltä. Arvioitu tunnelin sulkuaika on noin vuosi. Tänä aikana liikenne ohjataan kiertotielle, joka kulkee Kehä III:lta Itäväylän, Kallvikintien ja Niinisaarentien kautta Vuosaaren satamaan. Reitille on tehty nyt useita parannuksia, jotta liikenne sujuisi mahdollisimman hyvin tunnelin ollessa suljettuna. Tulevan syksyn aikana selvitetään vielä mahdollisia lisäparannustarpeita reitillä.

Preparatory work for the renovation of Vuosaari road tunnel

Preparatory work for the renovation of the Vuosaari road tunnel will begin outside the tunnel at the port end in week 34. During week 35, the work area will expand, closing the Satamakaari ramp and one lane leading away from the port.

Work will begin outside the tunnel at the port end during the week starting August 18 with the removal of trees and excavation work, which will cause little disruption to traffic.

During the last week of August, week 35, the work area will expand from the tunnel entrance towards the port:

• The second lane of Vuosaari Port Road will be closed from the Seilorinkatu roundabout towards the tunnel. Traffic from the port towards the tunnel will be able to use one lane.
• The Satamakaaren ramp will be completely closed, and access to Kehä III through the tunnel from Vuosaari will be via Rahtarinkatu–Seilorinkatu–Vuosaaren satamatie. Access from the port to Vuosaari will be via the same route in reverse (Vuosaaren satamatie–Seilorinkatu–Rahtarinkatu–Satamakaari).

The traffic arrangements will remain in place until the tunnel renovation work begins. The work will not affect traffic traveling from Ring Road III to the port. The tunnel will also remain in normal use throughout the autumn.

The tunnel will be closed to traffic in January 2026

Repair work on the Vuosaari tunnel will begin on January 6, 2026, at which point the tunnel will be closed to traffic. The estimated closure period is approximately one year. During this time, traffic will be diverted to a detour route that runs from Ring Road III via Itäväylä, Kallvikintie, and Niinisaarentie to Vuosaari Harbour. Several improvements have now been made to the route to ensure that traffic flows as smoothly as possible while the tunnel is closed. Any additional improvements needed along the route will be assessed during the coming autumn.
